Haaretz journalist Diaa Haj Yahia reported that 570 Arab citizens were admitted to hospital or died there from gunshot wounds in 2025, against 67 Jewish citizens.
Gunshot victims made up about 61% of Arab citizens hospitalised or killed by criminal violence last year, a side of the problem the death toll does not show.
An August survey by the Elaf centre found about 60% of respondents named fear of being shot in their own town as one of their main daily worries.
