Police and an armed group suspected of belonging to a Nazareth crime organisation exchanged fire in Kafr Manda on the morning of Thursday 8 October. Four suspects, all from Nazareth, were arrested and one was moderately wounded.
Police said months of investigation into shootings at businesses in the north led them to the group, and that officers deployed after learning of a planned new attack. Gunmen got out of a car and fired at a building before officers returned fire and chased them.
A pistol, an M16 rifle and vehicles with bullet marks were seized. Northern District commander Meir Eliyahu said operations against illegal weapons would continue.
