Police officers from the 'Towns' station and members of the National Guard entered al-Salam mosque in Tel Sheva on the afternoon of 26 September wearing their shoes, angering residents.

Police said they came after complaints of unusual noise and went in to locate the loudspeakers because nobody responsible was present. A fine was later issued over the volume of the call to prayer. The police spokesman declined to comment on the shoes.

On 18 October police issued another noise fine to a Tel Sheva mosque and said they would keep acting against loudspeakers, balancing worship against residents' quiet.
