Ra'am adopted the 'regional councils plan' drawn up by the Regional Council of Unrecognised Villages in the Negev after a meeting in Segev Shalom with MKs Mansour Abbas and Walid al-Huashla and village representatives.
The plan seeks recognition of the villages, proper planning and services. Abbas and al-Huashla said they would push it in the next Knesset and work to stop demolitions, and that it requires being part of a supportive government.
Democrats leader Yair Golan repeated his call to stop demolitions and prepare master plans for the villages. The plan remains a proposal.
