Israeli forces closed all entrances to Ramallah on Tuesday morning, 27 October, WAFA reported, shutting the Ein Sinya and Atara checkpoints, the Rawabi gate to the north and the Nabi Saleh and Aboud gates to the north-west, as Israelis went to vote.

Troops also set up checkpoints on the side roads Palestinians use to get around closures, including one near the education directorate on the al-Bireh to al-Jalazone road and another on the road linking Yabrud to Silwad, north-east of the city.

The army had barred Palestinian workers from Israeli settlements on Sunday and Monday and said it would close all crossings on election day, Al Jazeera reported. Many West Bank Palestinians have been confined to their homes or neighbourhoods since the Hebron closure began.
