Israelis voted on Tuesday, 27 October, for all 120 seats of the Knesset. Turnout stood at 16.7 per cent at 10am, with 1.2 million votes cast, up from 15.9 per cent at the same hour in 2022, according to figures reported by the Times of Israel. Soldier turnout was 30 per cent.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich attributed the rise to unusually high voting in Arab communities, though national figures do not show which groups drove it. Several parties, including Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar and Bennett's B'Yachad, filed complaints of missing or defaced ballot slips or of voter tracking.
About 7.33 million people are eligible. Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza have no vote, while Ben-Gvir and Smotrich cast ballots in the settlements of Kiryat Arba and Kedumim. A stone thrown at a car near the settlement of Rehelim lightly injured an Israeli woman.
