Duty judge Hilmi Hajjouj of the Netanya Magistrate's Court issued an order on 1 October stopping the national planning enforcement authority from demolishing the Abu Mtair family's homes in Tayibe until the case is decided.
Attorney Dr. Qais Nasser argued the orders were issued over twenty years ago and that the houses are the only homes of five families, including two seriously ill residents.
The Times of Israel, reporting on 18 October, put the number of Abu Mtair family members at risk at about 40. Nasser later said other old orders in Tayibe had been scheduled for election day, 27 October.
