Hamas's interior ministry in Gaza said on Monday, 26 October, that two of its security personnel were killed while carrying out a security mission in Deir al-Balah, in the centre of the Strip. Gaza media reported that an Israeli strike hit their vehicle. The Israeli military did not immediately comment.

Later the same day the Israeli military said it struck three operatives who emerged from a tunnel shaft west of the line its forces hold in Khan Younis, inside Hamas-held territory, and that secondary explosions pointed to weapons stored in the tunnel. It was not clear whether the three were killed.

The army also said two Hamas commanders, an intelligence officer killed in Gaza City on Saturday and an engineering officer killed on Thursday, died in recent strikes. These claims could not be independently verified. WAFA separately reported two people killed in a strike on Deir al-Balah that afternoon.
