An Israeli strike hit a tent sheltering displaced people in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis on Monday morning, 26 October, killing four Palestinians, one of them a young girl, and wounding several others. Early reports carried by Hamas-affiliated media and relayed by the Times of Israel put the first toll at three, including a girl. The Israeli military had not commented when those reports appeared.
Al Jazeera counted at least five Palestinians killed across the Strip that day. The Gaza Health Ministry's Monday report recorded 11 deaths in the previous 24 hours, eight of them newly killed and three bodies recovered from rubble, along with 35 people wounded and taken to hospitals.
The ministry's running totals now stand at 74,555 killed since October 2023 and 1,559 killed since the ceasefire took effect on 11 October 2025. Israel says its strikes since the truce target members of armed groups, and the army said it killed four Hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters over the weekend.
