The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry told the General Assembly that Israel is continuing to commit genocidal acts against Palestinians in Gaza, a year into the ceasefire. Chair Srinivasan Muralidhar said expansion of Israeli-held territory keeps killing civilians who approach or cross the yellow line.

The report says Israeli control has grown from 53 to at least 60 per cent of Gaza, and Israeli fire along the front has killed at least 196 Palestinians, 43 of them children, since the truce. In the West Bank it found war crimes and crimes against humanity, and counted more than 34,000 people displaced, the largest displacement there since 1967.

It said Israeli air strikes killed 254 Palestinians in the West Bank between October 2023 and September 2026. Israel's Geneva mission called the report a "misinformation campaign to demonise the state of Israel" and urged that the commission be dissolved.
