Most of the roughly 70 Palestinians detained across the West Bank on 23 and 24 October were former prisoners, including some freed in exchange deals, the Palestinian Prisoners' Society said. It said dozens of Hebron homes were turned into barracks used for field interrogations, and hundreds of people were questioned on the spot.

By Monday the Palestinian Prisoners' Club counted more than 80 arrests in Hebron alone, with hundreds more detained and interrogated before release; WAFA later put the Hebron figure at 85. The Israeli army said about 50 people had been detained for questioning in the operation.

The society advises families to contact it and the Commission of Detainees' Affairs 24 hours after an arrest. It counts more than 26,000 arrests in the West Bank since the war began, and says tens of thousands more people have faced field interrogations.
