Marking a year since the ceasefire was announced, the UN Human Rights Office said Israeli attacks had continued throughout the period. It verified 1,076 conflict-related deaths from the announcement to the end of July 2026: 268 children, 126 women and 682 men. The Gaza Health Ministry puts the total since the ceasefire at more than 1,400.

The office verified 331 deaths near the yellow line, including 66 children and 27 women, and said the conduct of forces there suggests it is being treated as a kill zone. Monitors found no single fixed line: Israeli positions shifted inward over the year, with frequent incursions into Palestinian communities.

It raised serious concern that Israel is directing attacks at civilians not taking part in hostilities, which would be a war crime. It said Israeli forces held about 53 per cent of Gaza at the ceasefire and urged other states to use their influence, including by halting weapons supplies.
